Canada Hockey Team Celebration

Well everyone has too make a big deal again. The Hockey team of Canada is getting a beef about the celebration on the ice after winning. Drinking beer and champagne, and smoking cigars. Now I get it! It’s a high level of sports, and maybe doing it on the ice maybe was not the right place. But those girls earned it just like everyone, all the training and work to get a medal. The world has bigger problems than that!

I will be so glad when the winter Olympics are over, so I can get to bed. I just can’t stay away. The Ski Cross race is so sweet all the jumps, just want too ski it now! I have just been stuck to the tv. I need to run more and sleep, not sit and watch the Olympics for hours that will not get me trained for 100 mile ultra’s.

The nice weather is gone, back to cold and snow. Can’t wait till spring and running in shorts.

Sunny Sunday

An Easy Week

Just kicking back this week. A long week, last week. Over 50 miles of running in a lot of fresh snow. The legs have been tight this week, so we are just doing some easy 6 mile runs. I don’t know how much snow we have gotten, but I’m sure the skiing has been better. I don’t ski here in OH, just not big enough for me. Being raised in NH on mountains, that OH just can’t compair. Next week we will hit some good training miles. Go Big Or Go Home!

Deep Snow

So I get up have cup of coffee and my Rx protein bar. Then get my gear on and head out to pine lane trail head. A little light snow still blowing around. I get rolling down the trail it’s only about a foot wide and semi packed. With all the snow we been getting it was ok, just really soft. I really had to stay on my game so I don’t roll the ankles too hard. A slow pace but a great workout and 8 more miles done. In the afternoon I went too sand run parks jog path that gets plowed and got 6 more miles for the day.

More Snow

We are still getting snowed on here in North East Ohio. The past to morning’s that I got up to run, I find two inch’s of fresh snow to run in. It’s not so bad on my 6 mile jog path that I use for my morning run’s the park service plows it. But the trails are deep. But the over all training is going good, just not the high weekly miles I would like to sit on. The runs have good over all, and my led turn over is very good. The snow really pumps up the runs too.

Weekend of Snow

Friday night the sky dropped a foot of snow on us. I got up saturday with a goal too hit some big miles on the trails. I got out to pine lane trail head, had to slap the truck into 4×4. I was the first one their, no plow trucks have hit the short road to the trail head. That’s why I have a 4×4 truck. I hit the trail, I ran good, blazing through the snow hard and fast. After 3 miles I was getting beat. I had rolled my right ankle like 3 times. I turned around and call it a day for 7 miles for the day in the snow. Sunday I took some time to kick snow off a trail hill so I could do some hill repeats. It is a big hill with random big log steps. A great hill to run up and down, the steps keep you on your game. So it was low miles for the weekend, but the effort of the workout was good.
